LithoSpace® in Southeast Asia

With the LithoSpace®Basic for Bac Thang Long Hospital in Hanoi, Vietnam a further lithotripsy system of AST GmbH is installed in Southeast Asia.
To form a tailored workstation according to the customer's desires the LithoSpace® shock wave source has been combined with X-Ray and surgical table locally. In result an individual solution for the customer's concept is realized. The complete lithotripsy workstation is characterized by high efficiency, effective stone disintegration and flexible handling.
The hospital is looking forward to offer future treatments at this new lithotripter.

AST and PHILIPS installation at the University Hospital Halle, Germany

The successful cooperation between PHILIPS and AST continues:
An additional UroDiagnost Eleva workstation will be installed in combination with the LithoSpace®Premium at the Urology Department
of the University Hospital Halle. The urology clinic is looking forward to utilize a 90° intervention table with the latest stage of flat detector X-ray technology in combination with the lithotripter featuring full freedom of movement resulting in highest efficiency.
The interdisciplinary X-ray workstation with temporarily mounting of
the lithotripter enables the performance of all urology indications
in diagnostics and therapy, including Urodynamics, 3D Mapping
(comparable CT) and ESWL in one room at one workstation.

AST and PHILIPS present cooperatively an urological workstation

Today a new urological workstation in The Franziskus Hospital in Bielefeld was introduced to the public. It consists of the UroDiagnost Eleva System from PHILIPS and the LithoSpace®Premium from AST. With this fitting combination AST and Philips fulfilled cooperatively the requirements and wishes of the hospital, which could not be matched by any other existing lithotripsy-system. Both companies are willing to continue their good cooperation in the next years.

Best results with AST LithoSpace®Endo in Pakistan

The first LithoSpace®Endo in Pakistan is operating with best results. It was installed on December 2nd in 2010 and is in daily use. More than 80 patients were treated with the extra corporeal shock wave lithotripter of AST GmbH until now with a retreatment rate of only 5 %. The LithoSpace®Endo is located in the Institute of Medical Sciences in Gambat.

State Secretary of Thuringia at the AST stand at Medica in Dusseldorf

Once again, AST presented itself as a successful company in the medical technology industry at the world's largest industry sector trade fair MEDICA.
AST was pleased about a special stand visitors, the Thuringian State Secretary Jochen Staschewski. He was visibly impressed by the demonstration of the performance of LithoSpace ®. In lively discussion, he pursued the explanatory words of Dr. Werner Schwarze and promised the further development of the AST GmbH on the part of the Free State of Thuringia to make all reasonable efforts.

The first lithotripsy for the IDE trial with the LithoSpace® in USA

The FDA approval is a local requirement for utilization of the LithoSpace® in the USA. On September, 3rd 2010 the first treatment for the IDE trial was successfully done.
After finishing the trial and receiving the FDA approval the LithoSpace® will be launched in the U.S. - an important step for further sales activities in one of the biggest markets in the world.

X-ray Adaption

Beside the ultrasound localisation the adaptation of X-ray imaging has been implemented.
Every C-arm can be combined via digital or analog video output with the LithoSpace®. Stones which are not visible with ultrasound can be located by X-ray. A wider range of therapy can be realized now.
